Pliers and Peonies

There are days
Where life is peaceful.
The hours flowing steadily by,
My mind overlooking a meadow
Where the children I wish I had
Play amongst the peonies.
And there are days
Where life is painful.
The clouds consume the horizon,
Offering doubt and death.
Thoughts must be extracted, like teeth
With a pair of rusty pliers.
