Disgust

I have sought companions,
I have sought kindred souls,
But the feebleness of man
Leaves me waiting and wanting.

There must be those
Who feel as I do,
Who move with a quickness,
Who accept a person
As just a person,
Who refrain from judgment
For fear of hypocrisy.

The worst alive,
Surely accepts all,
For the others are droll
and meekly restrained.

To impose wrongness
On another’s actions
Invites a divide,
An unnecessary estrangement,
Between a distant family
And the concept of “Other”
Takes hold.

I pity the pious,
The ignorant, The entitled,
The better-thans and belittlers;
All those who wear
Needless sneers of disgust.
