In the Rain

There’s something in the rain
That feels right.
That cleansing downpour,
Those thunderous waves
Blotting out the cacophony
Of everyone else’s life.
Mother Nature’s baptismal offering,
Keeps God’s promises.
There is a peace here,
Inside myself,
Inside this storm.
There is renewed passion
For life and for living,
There is our hope
Out in the rain.

I am, by no means, a professional writer. I have no dreams of becoming such. I just enjoy writing in my very sparse free time, both poetry and short stories. If you enjoy any of my works in particular, feel free to tell me. I always enjoy the feedback.

  1. There’s something about your words that makes me feel like I know you, like I’ve always known you. It’s weird. It’s hard to explain, I hope it doesn’t sound creepy. I read your thoughts through your beautiful poetry and just feel like we’ve been friends forever. Sorry, I’m being weird, I know.

    1. It’s not weird at all. Sometimes it’s a momentary connection, sometimes it’s a lifelong bond, but there’s always a reason people click. We just have enough in common or enough shared experience for you to understand how my type of mind works. You find kindred spirits in unexpected places.
